Congratulations to East Hill Elementary School PTA, Central Region PTA AND NYS PTA Newsletter Award winner for 2009!!!

The newsletter is a vital link between the home and school, and it is one PTA takes seriously. PTA is well aware of the time and effort used in the creation of each publication. The newsletter competition is NYS PTA’s way of fostering and acknowledging the quality of you’re your journalistic expression

Eligibility & Entry Rules: 

Any Central Region PTA unit or council in good standing may enter. 

All newsletters (electronic or hard copy) submitted must have been published during the present school year, September 2009 to March 2010.  Use the form below to submit two (2) different issues of your newsletter.  (Always keep a clean, fresh copy of ALL your publications; then when it comes time, you can choose your two best issues.)  All entries must be postmarked no later than the March 31, 2010. 

Criteria in issues:  

Content:

National, State & Regional PTA information

News of local unit/council

Messages from PTA President and school administrators

Articles from PTA chairpersons and school personnel

News items which are informative and essential to parents, students and school community

A calendar of events

Layout:

Complete masthead (PTA unit/council name, school name, issue date)

Clarity (spacing of articles)

Neatness (fonts used)

Use of illustration/clip art (how it applies to the main idea of article)

Mechanics:

Accuracy

Originality

Spelling and grammar* 

(*PTA is a registered trademark.  The use of periods in PTA will be considered an error in punctuation. This also applies to PARP.)
